The agreement
These terms are between you and Owlzworks for the Teslable app, website and related services. To use Teslable you create an account by signing in with a Google account or an Apple account; by creating an account you agree to these terms. If you use Teslable for a company, you confirm you may bind that company.
Your car and your Tesla account
Teslable talks to your car directly over Bluetooth, using a phone key you register on the car and Tesla’s published vehicle-command protocol. Signing in to a Tesla account is optional. Within the permission you grant on Tesla’s site it is used to fetch the VIN once (nothing of that sign-in is kept), and to get permission to send vehicle commands when you turn on Sentry night-off (then the tokens are kept, encrypted). You are responsible for registering and managing the phone key and for keeping your Tesla account secure. Teslable is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. “Tesla” is a trademark of Tesla, Inc.
Day pass
The app is free. Screen Link, Drive Guide and Sentry night-off open with a day pass. A day pass opens once Google confirms that you watched one ad to the end, and keeps the three features open for 24 hours from then. Every ad you watch adds 24 hours to the time left, with no limit on how much you can bank. When a pass starts and ends is set by our server’s clock; changing your phone’s clock does not change it.
On Android the app sends one notification 3 hours before the pass ends. If that falls between 10 pm and 8 am, it comes at 9 pm before instead. Tapping it never plays an ad by itself.
When there is no ad to show and less than 12 hours are left, your time is set to 24 hours (twice at most in 7 days with no ad watched); with 12 hours or more left it is not. If the ad cannot be loaded because of a network problem, it does not open. A session that was running when the pass ends may keep going after it ends, until the session ends.
Ads are shown by Google AdMob, and what happens to your information is covered by the privacy policy. Vehicle information is never given to advertisers.
Sentry night-off
Every day at the time you chose, Sentry night-off sends one command through Tesla’s Fleet API that turns your car’s Sentry Mode off. Nothing is sent if your day pass has ended by then or Sentry Mode is already off. It never wakes the car, so if the car does not answer it cannot turn Sentry Mode off, and the app shows you that. It does not turn Sentry Mode back on; the car turns it on again by its own settings the next time you park.
While Sentry Mode is off the car does not record its surroundings. Whether to use this feature is your choice, and to the extent the law allows we are not responsible for what happens to the car while Sentry Mode is off. You can withdraw Teslable’s permission in your Tesla account at any time.
Acceptable use
Do not use Teslable to access a car you are not authorised to control, to interfere with Tesla’s services, to circumvent the day pass (for example, tampering with the app or forging requests to open Screen Link or Drive Guide), or to scrape or resell data. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Your content
Your parking notes and pillar photos are yours; they are kept on your phone only and never sent to our servers. What you send as feedback is used only to answer you.
Availability and safety
Vehicle data depends on the Bluetooth link between your phone and your car. While your phone is not near the car or the link drops, there is no new data and drives may be missing. Drive Guide is a driving aid; actual road signs and traffic law take precedence. Never rely on Teslable for safety-critical decisions. Alerts are best-effort.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Teslable is provided as is, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything that cannot be limited by law. Consumers keep all mandatory rights under the law of their country.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time in the app; its data on our servers is then deleted at once (details in the privacy policy). We may end the service or your account with reasonable notice, or immediately for serious breaches. Sections that by their nature should survive do so.
Governing law
For consumers, the law and courts of your country of residence apply where mandatory. Otherwise these terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea and disputes go to the courts of Seoul.
